WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • 'Moda Vera' - JANSEN - MC -6 (7-8-9), C1 - 2 (3-3-4), C2 - 3 (4-4-5), 50g balls as per size
  • 1 pair 6.50mm and a set of 5.50mm knitting needles or size needed for correct tension
  • 2 stitch holders
  • Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure

MEASUREMENTS

To Fit Size cm: 75-80 (Size S), 85-90 (Size M), 95-100 (Size L), 105-110 (Size XL)
Actual Size cm: 110 (Size S), 120 (Size M), 130 (Size L), 140 (Size XL)
Length Approx - Back cm: 67 (Size S), 68 (Size M), 69 (Size L), 70 (Size XL)
Sleeve Length cm: 35 (Size S), 36 (Size M), 37 (Size L), 38 (Size XL)

TENSION

13 sts x 19 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 6.50mm needles.

INSTRUCTIONS

BACK

Using 6.50mm needles and MC, cast on 73 (79-85-91) sts.

1st row - K2, * P1, K1, rep from * to last st K1.
2nd row - K1, * P1, K1, rep from * to end.

Last 2 rows form rib, cont in rib until work measures 4cm from beg, ending with a 2nd patt row. ** Working in stocking st for rem, cont until work measures 37cm from beg, working last row on wrong side. Using C1, work 8 rows stocking st.

Tie a marker at each end of last row to mark armholes, as there is no armhole shaping. Work 10 rows stocking st. Using C2 for rem, work 28 (30-32-34) rows stocking st.

SHAPE SHOULDERS

Cast off 7 (7-8-9) sts at beg of next 4 rows, then 6 (8-9-9) sts at beg of foll 2 rows. Leave rem 33 (35-35-37) sts on a stitch holder for neckband.

FRONT

Work as for Back to **.

BEG SHAPING FOR LOWER EDGE

Working in stocking st for rem cont as folls -

NOTE - when turning take yarn under needle and onto other side of work, slip next st onto right hand needle, take yarn under needle and back into original position, slip st back onto left hand needle, then turn and proceed as instructed. This avoids holes in work.

1st row - K5 (6-5-6), turn.
2nd row and foll alt rows - Purl to end.
3rd row - K9 (10-11-12) turn.
4th row - P12 C2, P7 C1, P12 C2.
5th row - K11 C2, K9 C1, K11 C2.
7th row - K17 (18-23-24) turn.
9th row - K21 (22-29-30) turn.
11th row - K25 (26-35-36) turn.
13th row - K29 (30-41-42) turn.
14th row - Purl to end.
15th row - Knit to end across all sts.
Next row - P5 (6-5-6) turn.
Next and foll alt rows - Knit to end.
Next row - P9 (10-11-12) turn.
Next row - P13 (14-17-18) turn.
Next row - P17 (18-23-24) turn.
Next row - P21 (22-29-30) turn.
Next row - P25 (26-35-36) turn.
Next row - P29 (30-41-42) turn.
Next row - Knit to end.
Next row - Purl to end across all sts.

Cont across all sts until work measures 37cm from beg (at side edge), working last row on wrong side. Using C1, work 8 rows stocking st. Tie a marker at each end of last row to mark armholes, as there is no armhole shaping.
Work 10 rows stocking st.

SHAPE V NECK

Change to C2 for rem.
Next row - K36 (39-42-45), turn.
Cont on these 36 (39-42-45) sts for left side of neck shaping, dec one st at neck edge in every row until 30 (33-36-39) sts rem, then in foll alt rows until 20 (22-25-27) sts rem. Work 1 (1-3-3) rows stocking st.

SHAPE SHOULDER

Cast off 7 (7-8-9) sts at beg of next and foll alt row. Purl 1 row. Cast off rem 6 (8-9-9) sts. Slip next st onto a stitch holder and leave for neckband. With RS facing, join C2 to rem 36 (39-42-45) sts, knit to end.
Cont on these 36 (39-42-45) sts for right side of neck shaping, dec one st at neck edge in every row until 30 (33-36-39) sts rem, then in foll alt rows until 20 (22-25-27) sts rem.
Work 2 (2-4-4) rows stocking st.

SHAPE SHOULDER

Cast off 7 (7-8-9) sts at beg of next and foll alt row. Knit 1 row. Cast off rem 6 (8-9-9) sts.

SLEEVES

Using 6.50mm needles and MC, cast on 31 (33-35-37) sts.

1st row - K2, * P1, K1, rep from * to last st K1.
2nd row - K1, * P1, K1, rep from * to end.

Last 2 rows forms rib for band, cont in rib until work measures 4cm from beg, ending with a 2nd patt row.
Work 4 rows stocking st inc 14 (14-16-16) sts evenly across 1st row ... 45 (47-51-53) sts.
Cont in stocking st inc one st at each end of next and foll 4th rows until there are 61 (63-63-63) sts, then in foll 6th rows until there are 65 (67-71-73) sts. Using C1 for rem, cont until work measures 35 (36-37-38) cm from beg, working last row on wrong side. Cast off all 65 (67-71-73) sts.

NECKBAND

DO NOT PRESS. We recommend using mattress st to sew up your garment. Join shoulder seams. With RS facing, using a set of 5.50mm needles and C2, beg at left shoulder seam, knit up 38 (40-42-44) sts evenly along left side of V neck shaping, knit one st from stitch holder (centre stitch), knit up 38 (40-42-44) sts evenly along right side of V neck shaping to shoulder seam, knit across 33 (35-35-37) sts from back neck stitch holder ... 110 (116-120-126) sts.

1st round - * K1, P1, rep from * to end.
2nd round - Rib to within 2 sts of centre front st, sl 1, K1, psso, K1 (centre st) K2tog, rib to end ... 108 (114-118-124) sts. Rep 2nd round once ... 106 (112-116-122) sts. Cast off loosely in rib.

FINISHING

Placing centre of sleeves to shoulder seams, sew in sleeves evenly between markers. Join side and sleeve seams.
Sew in ends.
