Set the Scene With Party Decorations for Birthdays and More

A great party starts before your first guest walks in, and Spotlight has the party decorations to set the mood from the moment they arrive. Our range covers party balloons, bunting and garlands, backdrops and wall decorations, hanging decorations, paper lanterns and fans, table decorations, confetti, birthday party hats, party lighting, sashes and badges. Mix a few together, and you'll have your birthday, baby shower or milestone party setup sorted.

What Party Decorations Do You Really Need?

Start with the celebration, then choose your decorations. A 1st birthday needs different touches to a wedding, a bridal shower or a big anniversary, and seasonal events like Christmas and New Year bring their own look. Here is what each type does for your space.

• Bunting and garlands add colour across walls, mantels and doorways.
• Backdrops and wall decorations give you a feature wall for photos.
• Hanging decorations, pom poms, and paper lanterns fill empty ceiling space.
• Streamers and confetti bring quick colour to tables and floors.
• Table covers and centrepieces dress your main setting.
• Party hats, sashes and badges make the guest of honour stand out.

Mix these depending on the size and style of your event. Balloons are an easy pairing, and you can add foil balloons, latex balloons, balloon garlands or balloon bouquets for height and colour. Pop into a store and our team can inflate your balloons with our in-store balloon inflation service while you finish your shopping.

Bring Your Party Theme to Life With Colour and Style

Pick your theme first, then build a colour palette around it. Two or three main colours keep a space feeling styled rather than busy.

• Kids parties. Kids love dinosaurs, unicorns, mermaids, space, and racing. Add a happy birthday banner and a pinata, and the party is off to a great start.
• Milestone birthdays. Decorations for 18th birthday and 21st birthday celebrations tend to be more colourful than a 30th birthday, 40th birthday, 60th birthday or 70th birthday, but they all work best with a clear theme and a few standout decorations.
• Engagement, Hen's Parties, and Weddings. Soft tones with metallic touches work well. Throw in tiaras and sashes to make group photos more fun.

Carry your colours across the room with matching napkins, cups, straws, cutlery, picks, cake toppers, party favour bags, and stickers so everything ties together.

Make Every Space Feel Like Part of the Party

Decorate the spots guests notice first. Dress your entrance, then work through ceilings, walls, party tables and a photo backdrop.

• Frame your doorway with a garland or bunting so the party starts at the front door.
• Hang decorations from the ceiling to fill the room without using floor space.
• Create one standout focal point, like a balloon wall or a styled dessert table.
• Add party lighting to warm up the room as the evening goes on.

These ideas work inside and out. For outdoor parties, weigh down lighter decorations so a breeze does not undo your setup.

Celebrate Big While Keeping Your Budget in Check

Yes, you can style a great party without spending a fortune. Focus on the high-impact areas first, like your main table and photo wall, where guests spend the most time.

Reusable decorations pay off across birthdays, so pair them with affordable finishing touches, like confetti, streamers and balloons. If you enjoy making your own decorations, we also have a wide range of craft supplies, paper, and fabric to create personalised signs, banners and keepsakes. Decorating in stages helps too. Buy your big pieces first, then add birthday candles, pinatas, and smaller extras closer to the day.
