ENTWINE RIB BEANIE

Entwine Rib Beanie Project

Level: Easy

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • "4 Seasons" Pure Wool Entwine 100g balls, 1 x 1st Colour (C1) Blue, 1 x 2nd Colour (C2) White and 1 x 3rd Colour (C3) Black.
  • 1 pair each 6mm and 7mm knitting needles or sizes required to give correct tension.
  • Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure
  • A large pom pom maker

SIZE

To Fit Head (approx): 56 cm (Lady)

TENSION

13 sts and 17 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 7mm needles and 2 strands of yarn together.

Note - This Beanie has been worked on different needles and at a different tension using 2 strands of yarn together throughout.

INSTRUCTIONS

BEANIE

Using 6mm needles and 2 strands of C1 tog, cast on 69 sts.

1st row (RS) - K2, P1, K1, rep from to last st, K1.

2nd row - K1, P1, K1, rep from to end.

Last 2 rows form rib.

Cont in rib until work measures 4cm from beg, ending with a 2nd row.

Change to 7mm needles.

Using 1 strand of C2 and 1 strand of C3 tog for rem, cont in rib until work measures 20cm from beg, ending with a 2nd row.

Shape Crown -

1st row (RS) - Rib 5, sl 1, K2tog, psso, rib 5, rep from to end ... 53 sts.

Work 3 rows rib.

5th row - Rib 5, sl 1, K2tog, psso, rib 3, rep from to end ... 37 sts.

Work 3 rows rib.

9th row - Rib 1, sl 1, K2tog, psso, rib 1, rep from to end ... 19 sts.

Work 1 row rib.

11th row - Rib 1, sl 1, K2tog, rep from to last 3 sts, rib 1, K2tog ... 10 sts.

Break off yarn leaving a long end.

Thread end through rem sts, draw up tightly and fasten off securely.

FINISHING

DO NOT PRESS. Using mattress st and long end, join side edges together to form centre back seam. Using C1, make a large pom pom and attach to crown.
