Pure Wool 8Ply Moss Stitch Throw With Tassels Project

LEVEL: EASY

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • '4 Seasons' Pure Wool 8ply 50g x 30 balls. Main Colour (M) Cream and 1 ball each
    1st Contrast (C1) Charcoal, 2nd Contrast (C2) Yellow, 3rd Contrast (C3) Navy, 4th Contrast (C4) Peach, 5th Contrast (C5) Stone, 6th contrast (C6) Chestnut and 7th Contrast (C7) Donkey.
  • A circular 8mm knitting needle (100cm long), or size required to give correct tension
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle
  • Tape measure

THROW MEASURES

Width (approx): 120cm
Length (approx): 150 cm

TENSION

12 sts x 22 rows to 10cm over moss stitch, using 8mm needles and 2 strands of yarn tog.

INSTRUCTIONS

THROW

Using circular 8mm needle and 2 strands of M tog, cast on 145 sts.

Note - A circular needle has been used to accommodate the large number of sts. Work in rows not rounds.

Note - When joining in new balls of yarn, join yarns 2 sts in from side edges to avoid unsightly knots along side edges of Throw.

BEG MOSS STITCH

1st row (RS) - K1, P1, K1, rep from to end.

Last row forms moss stitch when repeated. Cont in moss stitch until Throw measures 150cm from beg, working last row on WS.

Cast off loosely.

FINISHING

DO NOT PRESS. Sew in ends towards centre of Throw, rather than along side edges. Using a piece of cardboard 18cm long make 3 tassels each in C2 and C4 and 2 tassels each in C1, C3, C5, C6 and C7 and attach securely to RS of Throw as pictured.
