Approx 40 x 40cm
9 sts + 18 rows = 10cm in garter stitch
Blanket is worked using a modular half log cabin technique. Each block is worked by picking up stitches along the side edge of the existing work. When picking up stitches along the side of a previous block, insert needle between the first and second stitches of the row. When picking up stitches along the bound off edge of a previous block, insert the needle into the centre "v" of the stitches just above the last garter ridge of the block. The number of stitches picked up along a bound off edge of a block will always be one less than the number of stitches in that block, as the final stitch was picked up along the side edge for the following block and is now part of the back "seam."

Cut eighty 30cm lengths and eight 46cm lengths of colour C. Divide the 30cm lengths into four groups of 20. Tie each bundle at the middle point with one of the 46cm lengths. Fold each bundle in half so that the tie is at the tip of the loop created with the fold. Tie crosswise around each folded bundle about 2.5cm below the top of the fold with the remaining 46cm lengths. Wrap the tails of the ties around and around the bundles and then thread them inside and down the middle of the bundles with a tapestry needle. Tie the tops of the tassels onto the four corners of the pillow and knot to secure. Thread the tails inside and down the middle of the tassels using a tapestry needle. Trim tassels to desired length.
