Instructions
Reference the downloadable project sheet for project pattern diagrams.
Step 1
From the template provided, cut out:
- 2 x outer crown shapes from - printed poplin fabric
- 1 x inner crown shape from Fuse & Shape Stabilizer.
Step 2
Fuse stabiliser inner crown to the back of the front fabric crown shape, as per placement on the template.
Step 3
Cut ribbon into two equal lengths of 35 cm. Pin each ribbon length to the middle of the sides of one of the fabric crowns as per placement indicated on the template. Baste in place.
Step 4
With right sides facing, pin fabric crowns together with the stabiliser side face up.
Sew together crowns together along the angled top edges, stitching flush up alongside with the edge of the stabiliser inner crown. Leaving the base edges open, ensuring ribbons have not been caught up in the stitching.
Trim seams and clip corners, ensuring not to cut through stitching.
Step 5
Gently turn the crown points the right way out. Press flat.
Step 6
Press up seam allowance along the base to the inside of the other fabric crown piece and pin in place through all layers of the crown. Ensure ribbon lengths are exiting the sides of crown.
Edge stitch around all edges of crown, enclosing and securing all pressed-in seam allowances.
Press flat.
