MARVEL 8 PLY GRADIENT CUSHION
Level: Easy
- What you'll need:
- 100g '4 Seasons' Marvel 8 ply x 2 balls each of 1st colour cream, 2nd colour aqua, 3rd colour laguna
- 7mm Knitting needles or size required to give correct tension x 1 long pair
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
- Tape measure
- 51cm x 51cm cushion insert
Measurements
Width (approx finished) 50 cm
Length (approx finished) 50 cm
Tension
13 sts to 10 cm in width over stocking st, using 7mm needles and 2 strands of yarn tog.
Note - This cushion has been worked on bigger needles and at a different tension than normally recommended using 2 strands of yarn together throughout.
Instructions
Using 7mm needles and 2 strands of C1 tog, cast on 130 sts.
Work in stocking st until work measures 10cm from beg, ending with a purl row.
Break off 1 strand of C1.
Using 1 strand of C1 and 1 strand of C2 tog, cont in stocking st for a further 10cm, ending with a purl row.
Break off C1.
Using 2 strands of C2 tog, cont in stocking st for a further 10cm, ending with a purl row.
Break off 1 strand of C2.
Using 1 strand of C2 and 1 strand of C3 tog, cont in stocking st for a further 10cm, ending with a purl row.
Break off C2.
Using 2 strands of C3 tog, cont in stocking st for a further 10cm, ending with a purl row. Cast off loosely.
FINISHING
Do not press. Fold cushion in half so that side edges meet. Using mattress st, join cast on edges, side edge and cast off edges, leaving an opening for insert. Place insert inside and close opening.
Using C3, make 4 pom poms and attach one pom pom to each corner of cushion as pictured.
