INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1.From templates provided cut:
Body x 2 - Narwhal Flannelette Fabrics, Stomach x 2 - White Flannelette Fabrics, Horn x 1 - Mermaid Scale Lycra, Eye x 2 - Black felt, Eye pupil x 2 - White Flannelette, Mouth x 2 - Black Felt.
Step 2. Start by pinning the stomach pieces in place on the main body of the whale, turn under the seam allowance on the curved edge so it has a neat finish when sewn down. Top stitch down and repeat on other side.
Step 3. Pin the face pieces in place onto the whales' body and top stitch down. Repeat on other side. Make sure the mouth pieces will match on both sides once you sew the main body pieces together.
Step 4. With right sides facing, place front and back fabric pieces together. Sew together with a 1.5cm seam allowance leaving a 15cm gap along the straight base edge of cushion. Clip and trim all curves in seam (over lock if preferred). Turn narwhal cover right way out through the opening, press flat using iron with pressing cloth. Press the opening seam allowance under to the inside.
Step 5. Insert hobby fill stuffing into cushion cover through the opening at the base, slowly working bits of hobby fill up into and around the whole body. Do not over fill close to stitching as this may add further strain to stitching. Once cushion is at desired fullness and look, hand sew opening closed.
Step 6. To finish create the horn by sewing the long edges together with a 1cm seam allowance. Stuff the horn with hobby fill to create a firm horn shape. Then hand stitch the horn into position onto the head of the narwhal.
