Cutting Out

Step 1 - Start by cutting out the fabric. You will need a base piece and an opening piece.

• Base Piece - Cut 1 x rectangle 12cm x 16cm in fabric
• Opening Pieces - Cut 2 x rectangles 15cm x 16cm in fabric

Sewing Together

Step 1 - Fold each opening piece in half with wrong sides together, matching raw longest edges, pin together.

Step 2 - With the base piece facing right side up, place opening pieces on top with the raw long edges matching, placing the folded edges towards the centre.

Step 3 - Pin and sew around entire rectangle piece using a 1cm seam.

Step 4 - Trim outside corners at a 45-degree angle. Make sure not to cut through the corner stitching.

Step 5 - Turn right side out and press.

Step 6 - Insert a packet of tissues and there you have it!

Tip - Sew a decorative trim onto the folded edges of the opening before sewing together would add a more decorative effect.
