Cast on 16 sts *1st row: (w.s facing) K

2nd row: inc in 1st st K to end of row. Rep from * to* once (18 sts) K 12 rows w.s facing cast off 7 sts P to end (11 sts). Begin with a K row st st 5 rows.

Next row: P2 tog, P to last 2 sts P2 tog

Next row: K2 tog, K to last 2 sts K2 tog (7 sts)

Next row: P

Next row: inc in 1st st K to last st inc

Next row: inc in 1st st P to last st inc (11 sts). Begin with a K row st st 5 rows cast on 7 sts K across all sts (18 sts), K 12 rows.

Next row: **K2 tog, K across row,

Next row: K**

Rep ** to** once (16 st). Cast off.

Using a flat seam join sole and back seams. Run a gathering thread around top of instep. Pull firmly to gather and fasten off. Ribbon or a crocheted chain can be threaded through to make a tie.
