Step 1 - Cut from each of your coloured fabrics 1 strip of 6.5 inch and 2 strips of 3.5 inch. If your colour incorporates a 4th square of colour cut another 3.5 inch strip.
Step 2 - Cut your squares and rectangles from the cut strips. The quilt requires 20 finished blocks in an array of different colours.
Step 3 - Each Block requires:
4 Flying Geese:
Goose Background – Cut 4 – 3.6 x 6.5 inch
Geese – Cut 8 – 3.5 inch square
4 - 3.5 inch squares
1 large 6.5 inch square
4 – 3.5 inch squares
Step 4 - Firstly assemble your flying geese and iron flat. Once these have been assembled you can sew 1 to each end of your large block, checking that the
geese are pointing in the right directions.
Step 5 - With the remaining two flying geese attached the solid squares to each end and then sew to each side of the large pieced block checking that your geese are pointing in the right direction.
Step 6 - Once all blocks are assembled lay them out in the order that you would like them to appear.
Sew them altogether in strips and then sandwich and quilt.
