- 25cm of Bengal Decorator Fabric
- 25cm of Tanjore Decorator Fabric
- 80cm of Iowa Decorator Fabric
- 80cm of Decorative Black Fringing
- Matching Thread
- Measuring Tape
Step 1. Firstly cut out 2 x pieces each of both Bengal & Tanjore Decorator Fabric. Each piece will need to be 20cm
long, and 35cm wide (width of the runner) allowing an extra 2cm for a seam allowance.
Step 2. Following that, using the tribal patterned part of Iowa Decorator Fabric, measure across the of the design
and evenly allow room on either side of it until fabric measures a total of 35cm. Add 2cm total for a seam allowance and cut down either side of tribal pattern. This piece should measure 82cm x 37cm.
Step 3. Line up the pieces as follows: Tanjore, Bengal, Iowa, Bengal, Tanjore. Sew each of the pieces to the next piece keeping the seams on the wrong side of the fabric. Once they are all sewn together, split and press the seams down flat using an iron.
Step 4. Fold the ends of the runner back 1cm over, and hem.
Step 5. Cut the fringing to fit the width of the runner, and sew using a straight stitch on top of the runner.
