NIPPERS PAPOOSE & HAT
LEVEL: EASY
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- 'Bella Baby' Nippers 100g x 2 balls Main Colour (M) for Snuggle Bag and 1 ball Main Colour (M) and 1 ball Contrast Colour (C).
- A 7mm crochet hook for Hat and Snuggle Bag and a 6mm crochet hook for Hat, or sizes required to give correct tension.
- 2 stitch-markers
- Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure

Circumference (approx) cm: 60
Length (approx with turnback) cm:48
TENSION
9dc and 10 rows over double crochet fabric, using a 7mm hook.
INSTRUCTIONS
HAT
Using 7mm hook and M make 5ch. 1st round - 1dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1dc in each of next 2ch, 3dc in next ch, place marker in centre dc of 3dc group, working along other side of ch, 1dc in each of next 2ch, 2dc in last ch, place marker in last dc ... 10dc. Do not join, but work in continuous rounds. Move markers up after each round. Next round - * 1dc in each dc to 1dc before marker 2dc in next dc, 1dc in marked dc, rep from * once more ... 12dc. Rep last round until there are 36dc. Cont in dc without shaping, until work measures 20cm from beg, ending with a complete round. Fasten off.
OUTER EARS (make 2)
Using 6mm hook and M, make 4ch, join with a sl st in first ch to form a ring, turn.
1st row - 3ch (counts as 1tr), 7tr in ring, turn ... 8tr.
2nd row - 3ch, 1tr in each tr to end. Fasten off.
INNER EARS (make 2)
Using 6mm hook and C, make 4ch, join with a sl st in first ch to form a ring, turn.
1st row - 1ch (counts as 1dc), 7dc in ring, turn ... 8dc.
2nd row - 1ch, 1dc in each dc to end.
Fasten off
FINISHING
DO NOT PRESS. Sew inner ears in position to outer ears as pictured. Sew ears in position to hat. Sew in ends. Turn back brim for 3cm.
SNUGGLE BAG
Using 7mm hook and M, make 9ch.
1st round - 1dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1dc in each of next 6ch, 3dc in last ch, place marker in centre dc of 3dc group, working along other side of ch work 1dc in each of next 6ch, 2dc in last ch, place marker in last dc ... 18dc.
Do not join, but work in continuous rounds. Move marker up after each round.
Next round - * 1dc in each dc to 1dc before marker 2dc in next dc, 1dc in marked dc, rep from * once more ... 20dc.
Rep last round until there are 54dc. Cont in dc without shaping, until work measures 53cm from beg, ending with a complete round. Fasten off.
FINISHING
DO NOT PRESS. Sew in ends. Turn back top edge of work for 5cm.
