WRAP WITH LOVE KNITTED SQUARE

LEVEL: EASY
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- "Spotlight" 8ply yarns
- 1 pair each 4mm knitting needles or size required to give correct tension
- Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure.
SIZE
25cm x 25cm square
TENSION
21 sts x 44 rows to 10cm over garter st, using 4mm needles.
INSTRUCTIONS
DIAGONAL SQUARE
Using 4mm needles, cast on 3 sts.
Note - When joining in a new ball of yarn, join yarn in 3rd st from side edge to avoid unsightly knots along side edge of work and for ease of sewing up except when changing colours, where it will be necessary to join new colour at beg of row.
1st row (RS) - K1, inc in next st, K1 ... 4 sts.
2nd row - K1, inc in next st, knit to end ... 5 sts. Rep 2nd row until diagonal side edge measures 25cm.
Next row - K1, K2tog, knit to end. Rep last row until 3 sts rem.
Cast off.
FINISHING
DO NOT PRESS. Using yarn needle sew in ends towards centre of work.
GARTER STITCH SQUARE
Note - Correct st tension is required to achieve the stated width of 25cm. If your square measures less than 25cm in width, change to a larger size needle or cast on more sts until the width of 25cm is achieved. If your square measures more than 25cm, change to a smaller size needle or cast on less sts until the width of 25cm is achieved.
Using 4mm needles, cast on 53 sts.
Note - When joining in a new ball of yarn, join yarn in 3rd st from side edge to avoid unsightly knots along side edge of work and or ease of sewing up except when changing colours, where it will be necessary to join new colour at beg of row.
Knit in garter st (1st row is RS), until work measures 25cm from beg, working last row on WS.
Cast off.

KNITTING A ROW OF SQUARES IN ONE PIECE (make a 4 or 7 block strip)
Using 4mm needles, cast on 106 sts.
Note - When joining in a new ball of yarn, join yarn in 3rd st from side edge to avoid unsightly knots along side edge of work and or ease of sewing up except when changing colours, where it will be necessary to join new colour at beg of row.
1st row - K51, (K2tog) twice, K51 ... 104 sts.
2nd and every foll alt row - Knit.
3rd row - K50, (K2tog) twice, K50 ... 102 sts.
5th row - K49, (K2tog) twice, K49 ... 100 sts.
7th row - K48, (K2tog) twice, K48 ... 98 sts.
9th row - K47, (K2tog) twice, K47 ... 96 sts.
Cont dec in this manner in every foll alt row (noting that a corner will emerge at centre of cast on edge), until 2 sts rem.
Next row - K2tog ... 1 st.
With RS facing, knit up 52 sts evenly along first side edge on left-hand side of work, turn, cast on 53 sts ... 106 sts.
Rep from to 2 (5) times more, then from to once ... 4 or 7 square strip. Fasten off.
FINISHING
DO NOT PRESS. Using mattress st, join strips together to form Wrap. Sew in ends on WS
