FEATHER BOATER

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1 - Cut each feather down to create smaller sized feathers.

Step 2 - Once all the feathers are cut you can begin resembling each flower. Place a piece of tulle into and embroidery hoop and pull tight. Take 1 feather at a time, starting with the largest feathers and begin layering the feathers to create the flower shapes. Stitch them to the tulle to secure in place. You can use hot glue but it won't be as secure.

Step 3 - To finish use the beads to decorate the centre of each flower and hide the raw ends of each feather. Repeat this to create enough flowers to cover the inside base of you boater hat. We made roughly 10.

Step 4 - Once all the feather flowers are complete you can attach them to the inside of your boater hat either by gluing or stitching in place.

Step 5 - To finish slice a small cut into the hat where the crown meets the brim on each side and thread the ribbon through the hole.
