INSTRUCTIONS

Tension

22 Stitches x 30 Rows to give a 10cm Square in stocking stitch, using 4.00mm needles.

Notes:

Decreasing - K2tog at the beg of a row, and at the end of a row - K2tog through the back loops.

BACK

Using a long tail cast on, and with C1, cast on 91[99, 107, 117, 125] stitches, and knit 8 rows. This forms the Garter Stitch Band.

Work 2 rows of Stocking Stitch.

Lace Pattern

Row 1: K2, (yfwd, K2tog) to the last stitch, K1.

Row 2: Purl

Row 3: K1, (yfwd, sl1, K1, psso) to the end of the row.

Row 4: Purl

Work 26[28, 28, 30, 30] rows of Stocking Stitch.

Change C2 and repeat from

Change to C3 and repeat from to Row 4 of lace pattern.

Work 24[26, 26, 28, 28] rows of Stocking Stitch.

Raglan Shaping

Cast off 4[4, 4, 5, 5] sts at the beg of the next 2 rows. 83[91, 99, 107, 115] sts.

Change to C4, Sizes 10-16 only: decrease 1 st each end of the next 2 rows of Stocking St.

At the same time as following the raglan decreasing as set out below, work the 4 rows of lace in the next 4 rows, and commencing again after 28[30, 30, 32, 32] rows have been worked above last row of lace.

Decrease 1 st each end of next 0[2, 4, 6, 6] rows.

Decrease 1 st each of next and foll alt rows until 25[27, 29, 31, 35] stitches remain.

Work 1 row of Purl.

Leave rem sts on a holder for back neck.

FRONT

Work same as for Back to AT THE SAME TIME, decrease the middle stitch at the centre front, by purling 2 stitches together. 82[90, 98, 106, 114]

Work is now divided in 2, work only in first 41[45, 49, 53, 107]sts, for the left front raglan.

Change to C4, Sizes 10-16 only: and decrease 1 st at the armhole edge of the next 2 rows of Stocking St.

At the same time as following the raglan decreasing as set out below, work the 4 rows of lace in the next 4 rows, and commencing again after 28[30, 30, 32, 32] rows have been worked above last row of lace.

Armhole shaping and Neckline at worked simultaneously

Neckline

Decrease 1 st at the neckline edge of every 4th row 12[12, 13, 14, 15] times.

Armhole

Decrease 1 st at the armhole of the next 0[2, 4, 6, 6] rows.

Decrease 1 st at the armhole edge on this and foll alt rows until 2 stitches remain bind off.

Work Right side Front raglan, reversing shaping.

SLEEVES - Make 2

Using a long tail cast on, and with C2, cast on 77[81, 85, 89, 93] sts, and knit 8 rows. This forms the Garter Stitch Band.

Raglan Shaping

Commencing Stocking stitch, cast off 4[4, 4, 5, 5] sts at the beg of the next 2 rows. 69[73, 77, 79, 83] sts.

At the same time as following the raglan decreasing as set out below, work the 4 rows of lace in the next 4 rows, and commencing again after 28[30, 30, 32, 32] rows have been worked above last row of lace.

Decrease 1 st each end of next 0[2, 2, 0, 0] rows.

Decrease 1 st each of next and foll alt rows until 13 stitches remain.

Leave rem sts on a holder.

NECK BAND

Using Circular needle, and with C4, and right side facing, knit across 25[27, 29, 31, 35] of back, knit off holder 13 sts of one sleeve, knit up 44[46, 48, 50, 52] sts evenly along left front shaping, knit 1 stitch in the centre front, knit up 44[46, 48, 50, 52] sts evenly along right front shaping, knit off holder 13 sts of remaining sleeve, 139[145, 151, 157, 165] sts.

Working in rounds by working first stitch of back neck.

Round 1: Purl to 2nd stitch before centre front stitch. Sl 2 stitch together to left needle, knit next stitch, psso, purl to end of round.

Round 2: Knit to 2nd stitch before centre front stitch. Sl 2 stitch together to left needle, knit next stitch, psso, knit to end of round.

Repeat last 2 Rounds 3 more times.

Repeat Round 1, casting off purl ways to keep a nice even neckline with a little stretch, including the last decrease at the centre front as part of the cast off.

Finishing

Pin and sew sleeves to front and back along raglan shaping, easing where necessary, ensuring stripes and lace are matched. With right sides facing, pin and sew sleeve band and body side seams.

Weave in loose ends.
