  • 'Moda Vera' Malibu 8Ply 4 (5-6) x 100g balls
  • 1 pair 4.50mm knitting needles or size required to give correct tension.
  • 1 stitch-holder
  • Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure

MEASUREMENTS

To Fit Bust cm: 85 (Size S), 95 (Size M), 105 (Size L)
Actual Size (approx) cm: 95 (Size S), 105 (Size M), 115 (Size L)
Length (approx) cm: 63 (Size S), 64 (Size M), 65 (Size L)

TENSION

16 sts and 28 rows to 10cm over patt, using 4.50mm needles.

INSTRUCTIONS

BACK

Using 4.50mm needles, cast on 82 (90-98) sts.

Beg Rib - 1st row (RS) - K2, * P2, K2, rep from * to end.

2nd row - P2, * K2, P2, rep from * to end. Last 2 rows form rib.

Cont in rib until work measures 8cm from beg, ending with a 2nd row and dec 4 sts evenly across last row ... 78 (86-94) sts. Knit 6 rows garter st.

Beg Patt - This is a make and lose patt, where a number of sts is stated this does not include sts made on 1st row of patt.

1st row (RS) - Knit, winding twice around needle for each st to end.

2nd row - Knit, dropping extra loop for each st off needle ... 78 (86-94) sts. Knit 4 rows garter st. Last 6 rows form patt.

Cont in patt until work measures approx 42cm from beg, ending with a 2nd row.

Tie a coloured thread at each end of last row to mark beg of armholes as there is no armhole shaping. ** Cont in patt until work measures approx 21 (22-23) cm from coloured threads, ending with a 2nd row.

Shape Shoulders - Cont in garter st only and cast off 7 (8-9) sts at beg of next 4 rows, then 8 (9-10) sts at beg of foll 2 rows. Leave rem 34 (36-38) sts on a stitch-holder.

FRONT

Work as for Back to **. Divide for V Neck - 1st row - K39 (43-47), turn. Keeping patt correct, dec one st at end (neck edge) in every foll alt row 9 (10-11) times, then in every foll 4th row 8 times ... 22 (25-28) sts.

Cont in patt without shaping until work measures approx 21 (22-23) cm from coloured threads, ending with a 2nd row.

Shape Shoulder - Cont in garter st only and cast off 7 (8-9) sts at beg of next row and foll alt row. Work 1 row. Cast off rem 8 (9-10) sts. With RS facing, join yarn to rem 39 (43-47) sts and knit to end.

Keeping patt correct, dec one st at beg (neck edge) in every foll alt row 9 (10-11) times, then in every foll 4th row 8 times ... 22 (25-28) sts.

Cont in patt without shaping until work measures approx 21 (22-23) cm from coloured threads, ending with a 2nd row. Work 1 row.

Shape Shoulder - Cont in garter st only, cast off 7 (8-9) sts at beg of next row and foll alt row. Work 1 row. Cast off rem 8 (9-10) sts.

NECK EDGING

Using mattress st, join right shoulder seam. With RS facing and using 4.50mm needles, knit up 42 (44-46) sts evenly along left side of neck, M1 (centre st), knit up 42 (44-46) sts evenly along right side of neck, then knit across sts from back stitch-holder ... 119 (125-131) sts. Cast off loosely knitways.

ARMBANDS

Using mattress st, join left shoulder and neck edging seam. With RS facing and using 4.50mm needles, knit up 82 (86-90) sts evenly between coloured threads.

Work in rib as for lower band of Back, beg with a 2nd row until armband measues 5cm, ending with a 2nd row. Cast off loosely in rib. Work other armband in same manner.

FINISHING

DO NOT PRESS. Using mattress st, join side and armband seams.
