JOCELYN PROUST QUILT 4

Jocelyn Proust Quilt 4 Project

Level: Easy

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 1m of Main fabric
  • A selection of 4 other fabrics: 2 fat quarters and 2 x 50cm cuts of fabric
  • Sewing machine and matching thread
  • Scissors, pins, tape measure
  • Iron and ironing board

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1 - Cut the feature fabric into 45 x 40cm rectangles. Fold the fabric in half width way and press with a hot iron to mark the top centre from the fabric. Open the rectangle back up and cut on the diagonal from the bottom corner to the middle where the centre fold at the top is. Do this on both sides creating your triangle.

Step 2 - You will need 4 full triangles and two half triangles. When cutting the two half triangles allow a generous overlay from the centre of the triangle so this can be trimmed to size once quilted, giving a nice neat and straight finished edge to the quilt.

Step 3 - Sew the triangles together making a neat row of large triangles. Cut your main fabric in half and then add your main fabric to each side of the row of triangles.

Step 4 - To finish, sandwich and quilt. Trim to size and bind edges.
