How do I purchase sheer curtain fabrics from Spotlight?
Shop our fabulous range of sheer curtain fabrics online through our safe and secure website, and we will deliver right to your door. It is important to note that, some of these products are sold by the metre so that you can order exactly how much you need for your desired project. We endeavour to always cut our orders in one piece, however, due to the size of the rolls provided by manufacturers, this cannot always be guaranteed.
As a result, if you do make an order that is over 5m, it is not likely to be in one continuous piece. Alternatively, call into your local Spotlight today, where one of our team of friendly assistants will be on hand to help in any way that they can.

What else could I use sheer fabric for?
There is so much that you could do with sheer fabric, and the only limit truly is your imagination. These beautiful fabrics could even be used for lining in dressmaking projects or a veil for the bride on her special day. If you are looking to make a canopy for your bed, then there are lots of different ways that you can do this. Either opt for the traditional princess style canopy, using a large ring or even a hula hoop, as the base, or you could use a curtain rod to create a sheer swag.
Alternatively, you could also use it to provide curtains for a four-poster bed. This range also includes mosquito netting, and if you are plagued by mosquitoes during the hotter months, we are confident that this will help you to get a better night's sleep. You could also use our mosquito netting to make screens for your windows to keep them and any other pesky flying bugs from entering your home.
Do you have any tips for making my own curtains with sheer fabrics?
Making curtains is lots of fun - however, sheer fabrics can be a bit more of a challenge to work. Yet, fortunately, they require little cuts and they are not a very complicated project so even beginners can get involved. One of the first things to consider, before you begin, is how you will wish to hang your curtains. Often, sheer curtains are hung using a tab top or eyelet method.
Try to avoid pinning, as pins can quickly damage the sheer fabric. Use fine silk pins to combat this and place them much together you would normally. Ensure that all your pins are sharp and be careful to avoid snagging the fabric. When you are choosing your thread, pick a fine cotton and set your machine at around 15-16 stitches per inch. We also recommend holding the fabric taut to reduce the potential of puckering.
