RAFFIA WALL HANGING

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Choose approx. 5-10 strands of long natural raffia, this will be the base or your hanging, loop and secure around the branch as pictured
2. In small bunches of 4-7 strands start securing onto your base strand using a lark head knot (pictured) continue to add more and more small bunches until you are happy with the hangings thickness
3. Trim the strands as desired, we kept the ends short and the middle section long
4. Choose a long and strong piece of raffia for the beaded section, thread on 2 x small white beads, 1 x grey bead, 1 x large white bead, 3 grey beads, 1 x large white bead, 1 x grey bead and 2 x small white beads
5. Secure and tie off the bead strand onto the centre of the handing, leave a little space at each end which will make them easier to adjust and add more beads
6. Thread a length of raffia to the 2^nd & 3^rd grey bead and another length to the 3^rd & 4^th grey bead. Thread a white bead through both cords so it sits under the grey beads above. Repeat for the other length
7. Taking a length from each side add on a small white bead to sit just under the white beads above. Tie all lengths off to secure and trim excess or as desired.
