Instructions

Step 1: Bake the Cookies

  1. Prepare the Dough: Follow the Big Batch Cookie Dough recipe instructions on the back of the Heart-Shaped Coo Kie cutter.
  2. Roll Out Dough: Roll out the cookie dough to an even thickness of approximately 5 mm.
  3. Cut the Shapes: Use the Coo Kie Heart Shaped Cutter to cut heart-shaped cookies.
  4. Bake: Place the cookies on a lined baking sheet and bake according to the recipe instructions until lightly golden.
  5. Cool: Allow cookies to cool completely on a wire rack before decorating.

Step 2: Covering with Fondant

  1. Roll Out Fondant: Divide the fondant into two portions.
    - Dye one portion pink.
    - Mix the second portion with 50% additional white fondant to create a lighter pink shade.
  2. Cut Fondant Hearts: Roll out each fondant colour to about 2-3 mm thickness and cut heart shapes using the same Coo Kie Heart Cutter to match the cookies.
    Tip: For beautifully rounded edges, cover your fondant with plastic wrap before using the cutter.
  3. Apply Edible Glue: Lightly brush edible glue on the top of each cookie.
  4. Attach Fondant: Place the fondant hearts onto the cookies, smoothing them down gently to adhere securely. Use edible glue or royal icing.

Step 3: Embossing the Word 'MUM'

  1. Use the Sprinks Mini Alphabet & Number Embosser to carefully press the word 'MUM' into the fondant on each cookie.
  2. Press firmly but not too deep to achieve a clean and readable imprint.
    Tip: If your letters shift too much while embossing, try placing small pieces of fondant around them on the holder to keep them securely in place.

Step 4: Decorating with Nonpareils

  1. Apply Edible Glue: Lightly brush edible glue on the areas where you want to add texture.
  2. Attach Sprinks Pastel Pink Nonpareils: Sprinkle or place nonpareils onto the glued sections, focusing on the top edges or corners for a decorative effect.
  3. Set & Dry: Allow the decorations to set completely before handling or packaging the cookies.

Final Touches:

  • Store cookies in an airtight container.
  • Perfect for Mother's Day, birthdays, or special occasions!
