WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• 4 Seasons Pure Wool 8ply 3 x 50g balls each:
  -1st Contrast (C1) Tangerine
  - 2nd Contrast (C2) Navy
  - 3rd Contrast (C3) Hot Pink
  - 4th Contrast (C4) Denim
  - 5th Contrast (C5) Baby Blue
  - 6th Contrast (C6) Mint
  - 7th Contrast (C7) Turquoise
• 4 x 50g balls of 8th Contrast (C8) Oats.
• A 6mm crochet hook or size needed for correct tension.
• Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure

TENSION

1 motif = 15cm x 15cm using 6mm hook.

INSTRUCTIONS

MOTIF

(make 9 in each of C1 to C7 ... 63 motifs in all). Using 6mm hook, make 5ch, join with a sl st to form a ring.

1st round - 3ch (counts as 1tr here and throughout), work 15tr into ring, join with a sl st in top of 3rd ch at beg ... 16 sts.
2nd round 5ch (counts as 1tr, 2ch), * 1tr in next tr, 2ch, rep from * to end, sl st in top of 3rd ch at beg ... (16tr, 16 2ch sps).
3rd round - Sl st in first 2ch sp, 3ch, 2tr in same sp, 3tr in each 2ch sp to end, join with a sl st in top of 3rd ch at beg ... 48tr.
4th round - * (2ch, miss 2tr, 1dc in next tr) 3 times, 5ch, miss 2tr, 1dc in next tr, rep from * to end, join with a sl st ... 4 x 5ch corners with 3 x 2ch loops between.
5th round - Sl st in first 2ch sp, 3ch, 2tr in same sp, (3tr in next 2ch sp) twice, (6tr, 2ch, 6tr) in 5ch sp, * (3tr in next 2ch sp) 3 times, (6tr, 2ch, 6tr) in 5ch sp, rep from * to end, join with a sl st ... 21tr along each side with 2ch in each corner.
6th round - 1ch, * 1dc in each tr, 1dc in each 2ch corner sp,
rep from * to end, join with a sl st ... 88dc around. Fasten off.

JOIN MOTIFS

Following diagram, join motifs as foll -

Using 6mm hook and C8, join yarn to right-hand dc from corner dc of first motif, * 5ch, miss corner dc, 1dc in next dc (corner loop), (3ch, miss next dc, 1dc in next dc) to next
corner, ending with 1dc in right-hand dc before next corner dc, rep from * along second side of motif.

Join Second Motif - Work 1dc in left-hand dc from corner dc of second motif, 1ch (first ch of 3ch loop), * remove hook, insert hook from front to back through the last 3ch loop worked on first motif, slip st back onto hook, draw through yarn, 1ch (2nd ch of 3ch loop), 1ch, miss next dc on second motif 1dc in next dc, 1ch, rep from * thus joining along side to next corner 5ch loop, 2ch, remove hook, insert from front to back through 5ch loop, slip st back onto hook, draw through loop, 1ch, 2ch.

Cont along the 2nd and 3rd side of second motif, working 3ch loops and 5ch loop in corners (as before).Cont joining 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th motifs as second motif, using diagram as a guide. Work along final edge of 7th motif and beg joining next 7 motif panel.

At the corners of motifs, work 2ch, remove hook, insert hook from front to back through 5ch loop of the corner diagonally opposite the motif just joined (motif above and to the left). Cont joining motifs in this manner until 9 panels have been joined.

Complete the bottom and edge of Throw, working 3ch loops and joining 5ch loops at each corner.

Final round - Sl st in next 5ch corner, 3ch, 6tr in 5ch sp, * (1ch, 1tr) in every 3ch sp to corner motif, (1ch, 1dtr in 5ch sp) 3 times, rep from * working 7tr in each corner of Throw.
Join in top of first st with a sl st. Fasten off.

FINISHING

With a slightly damp cloth and warm iron, press lightly on WS if desired. Sew in ends.
