It can also be used in quilting, patchwork, plush toy and soft furnishing projects. Flannelette washes and wears well. This material is composed of 100% cotton. It is supplied in a 112 cm width and sold by the metre. Spotlight has a huge selection of printed and plain woven fabrics for all of your apparel creating needs. Flannelette may shrink upon first wash.
It is recommended that you purchase approximately 20 cm more than your pattern requires.
Always pre-wash, dry and smooth your flannelette fabric prior to sewing.
Press your flannelette on the reverse side of the print prior to cutting, a starch spray can be beneficial.
For best results, use sharp scissors or a large bladed rotary cutter when cutting flannelette fabric.
Use a new sharp universal needle 80/12 and your preferred thread (polyester or cotton work best).
