With its stunning range of colours, this Plain 145 cm Velour Corduroy Fabric is a great choice for colour-blocked garment projects. Velour corduroy is great for casual pants, skirts, dresses and jackets. This fabric a fantastic choice if you're looking to add textural elements to your work as it features narrow wales and has a luscious velvet-feel. This material is composed of 80% polyester and 20% nylon. It is supplied in a 145 cm width and sold by the metre. Additional Information: Pre-wash, dry and flatten your fabric prior to sewing.
Keep pattern pieces running in the same direction when sewing, otherwise shadowing will be created in your finished garment.
Pay close attention to the nap and the grainline in the weave of the corduroy.
Ideally, the nap should run down your pattern.
Rub your hand across the fabric to identify nap direction, the nap lays down smooth in the direction of the nap.
If using interfacing, ensure it is sew-in - fusible interfacings will crush the nap.
Use a fine, sharp needle and fine thread.
A roller or walking foot may be beneficial.
Finish raw edges with a serger stitch or encased binding as pile may shed.
Finished garments should be washed inside out prior to wearing.

Washing Instructions: Cold hand wash. Do not soak. Do not wring.
Machine Washing Instructions: Cold gentle machine wash before use
Bleaching Instructions: Do not bleach.
Drying Instructions: Hang dry in shade.
Dry Cleaning Instructions: Do not dry clean.
Ironing Instructions: Cool iron with cloth on reverse side.
