ROYAL WEDDING LACE CROWN
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- 1/2 yard crocheted lace
- Fabric stiffener
- Small bowl
- Tacky glue
- 1 sheet posterboard
- Clear packing tape
- Paper plate or parchment paper
- Thin butter knife or offset spatula
- Sewing pin
- Gold or silver metallic paint
- Rubber gloves
- Paint brush
- Hot glue gun or a jewelry adhesive
- Vintage jewelry, rhinestones and jewelled scrapbook trim
Step 1. Measure around your head where you would like the lace to sit. Add an inch to this measurement for the overlap of the lace. Measure this final measurement out in the lace and cut, allow for your lace pattern to end neatly so if you need to cut a bit further along for the pattern to
finish that is fine.
Step 2. Pour container of fabric stiffener into bowl and dip lace in until it is completely soaked. Scrap off any excess using your fingers.
Step 3. Allow to dry overnight.
Step 4. Once dry, paint an even layer of acrylic paint over the entire piece of lace. It's best to use a sponge as this helps get in all the small areas throughout the lace. Paint the whole front and allow drying before repeating the same process on the back.
Step 5. Once paint is dry you can decorate your crown using glitter and rhinestones.
