What Are Tab Top Sheer Curtains?

Spotlight's tab top sheer curtains are window dressings that combine the easy installation of tab top curtains with the serene aesthetic of sheer curtains. The "tabs" on tab top curtains are the exposed loops (tabs) of fabric that you can see on the curtains. These tabs easily loop around a curtain pole or rod, with no need for extra hooks or hardware. This simplified installation offers a clean, relaxed look. Another common variation is concealed tab top sheer curtains, where the tabs are hidden behind the top of the curtain. This creates a gentle pleated effect similar to an eyelet curtain when installed on a curtain rod.

Get Effortless Looks with Everyday Comfort

The sheer fabric of Spotlight's tab top sheer curtains allows light to filter through to your space, basking your home in an effortless glow that transforms any room into a peaceful oasis. This sheer fabric makes these curtains incredibly lightweight and easy to slide open. Tab top sheer curtains can often be machine washable, offering convenience for busy homes, renters or anyone wanting a low maintenance window dressing. Make sure to read any provided washing instructions.

Choose from a Huge Range to Suit Every Room

We have a gorgeous selection of sheer tab top curtains in a great range of colours, textures and sizes. Whether you're looking for linen-look curtains or long drop tab top curtains, Spotlight has a wonderful range that makes them perfect for coordinating across a range of interior decor styles.

Get the Right Fit Every Time

Here are our handy tips for getting the right size curtains for your windows:

• Follow our guide on how to measure your windows.
• Compare your window size to the sizes available in your chosen curtain style. Where two widths are listed as the curtain size, e.g. 140 to 220 cm, this means that the curtain pair will fit a window between these two measurements, inclusive of gathering. Choose the next size up if you want more fullness in your curtains!
• Consider the height of your window and compare this to the curtain drop. Most tab top sheers come in a height of 223 cm, which is suitable for most windows. You can also opt for a longer drop and install the curtains above your window frame to create an elegant sense of height and spaciousness in your room.

How Do I Hang Tab Top Sheer Curtains?

Tab top curtains are simply threaded onto a curtain rod, with no hooks or other curtain hardware required. The fabric tabs slide onto most standard rods, making them simple to hang and remove. If you don't have an existing curtain rod, Spotlight has a great selection of curtain rods to choose from. You can opt for a relatively wide-diameter rod for an additional styling accent, though narrower rods can also work. For wider windows, our expandable curtain rods are a great choice. These curtains work well with decorative rods and are perfect for casual or relaxed spaces.

Pair and Layer Tab Top Sheer Curtains with Ease

For the ultimate flexibility in your window coverings, pair your tab top sheer curtains with blockout curtains. This allows you to alternate between the light filtering properties of the sheer fabrics during the day and the privacy benefits of blockout linings in the evening. To create this layered arrangement, it's best to use a double curtain rod to display your curtains on one window. This arrangement works best in living rooms and bedrooms where you're wanting the ability to easily change between your window dressings when needed.
