Transform your handmade fashion into an elegant extravaganza with this gorgeous Floral Patterned 145 cm Cotton Nylon Lace Fabric. This stretch lace fabric can be fashioned into garments such as dresses, blouses, special occasion attire and costumes. Due to the nature of lace, garments will require lining if full-coverage is desired. Lace can also be used as an overlay or trim. This material is composed of 43% cotton, 40% nylon, 15% rayon and 2% elastane. It is supplied in a 145 cm width and sold by the metre. Pre-wash, dry, flatten and press your fabric.
Ensure you have your lace the same side up when laying out and cutting patterns.
It is easier to cut lace with scissors, particularly if your pattern has curves, rather than with a rotary cutter.
You may also want to use a temporary adhesive spray when cutting your pattern.
Use pattern weights instead of pins when cutting your fabric.
Use basting stitches to hold your pattern pieces together.
Use a clear presser foot when sewing lace and ensure you do not get any parts of the lace caught in the foot ends while sewing.
Use a universal needle and adjust for the thickness of your lace.
Finish lace with French seams and use a stabiliser.
Using a bias tape on seams can also be beneficial.
