ARBEE METALLIC FELT ROCKET COSTUME

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1 - Download the Arbee Metallic Felt Rocket Costume template and cut out the pieces.

Step 2 - Pin the template pieces to the corresponding felt colour, front and back pieces pin to silver and flame pieces pin to gold and red etc.

Step 3 - Cut out all the pieces according to the template.

Step 4 - Place decorative pieces over the top of the Rocket tip piece, glue in place using E6000 clear glue or E6000 Fabri-Fuse.

Step 5 - Sew down the edges of the front piece with the edges of the back piece leaving the center back open. Sandwich between front piece and back pieces the two pieces of rocket fin (left and Right) making sure metallic side is facing out.

Step 6 - Hand sew together or glue the rocket fin undersides together. Use matching Metallic thread or E6000.

Step 7 - Pin the armhole/seam cover over the seam that is visible through the arm hole. Make sure the metallic side is facing in. Sew down the edge and turn out, tuck in edge, and sew. Repeat on both sides.

Tip - Sew in a similar fashion as you would sew on bias binding.

Step 8 - Sew flame pieces along bottom edge of costume. Place evenly along the bottom ensuring the colours alternate red and gold. The smaller pieces should be centered onto the larger pieces and should be the opposite colour to the large piece.

Step 9 - Top stitch hem using matching metallic thread.

Step 10 - Put the two metallic sides of the face hole pieces together. Sew around the inside circle using a sewing machine. Turn out.

Tip - Snip along the seam not reaching the sewing to loosen the circle before turning right side out.

Step 11 - Pin the Edge for the face hole to the edges of the face hole in the front piece.

Step 12 - Hand stitch around the edge for the face hole using a matching metallic thread.

Step 13 - Pin the bottom curved edge of the rocket tip to the top edge of the body. Sew together.

Step 14 - Sew the edges of the rocket tip together from the curved edge of the rocket to the top point.

Step 15 - Down the center back sew on VELCRO Brand Sew On Soft & Flexible Hook & Loop Tape to easily open and close the costume.

Your metallic felt rocket ship costume is now complete and ready for lift-off!
