Follow the grain line of the fabric when laying out pattern pieces prior to cutting.
Scissors are ideal for cutting most linens, a rotary cutter may be beneficial for thicker linen blends.
Accurate marking is essential for your linen pattern, use marking pencils and tracing paper to detail features such as darts or pleats.
Use pins to hold your pattern together for sewing.
Linen and linen blends are easy to sew, use a basic thread for sewing.
Use a new Universal needle: 90/15 or 100/16.
Sew with a shorter stitch length.
Serging or zig zag stitch can be beneficial for seams.
Press as you go when sewing your linen pattern for a professional finish.
