WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- '4 Seasons' Marvel 8 Ply 100g x 1 ball each of 3 Contrast Colours (C1-brown, C2-lemon and C3-pink)
- Small quantities of several colours for Sprinkles
- A pair 3mm knitting needles 1 set 3.50mm double pointed needles and 3.50mm circular needle or size needed for correct tension.
- Hobby Fill
- Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure
INSTRUCTIONS
MEASUREMENTS
Diameter (approx) cm 50
TENSION
23 sts and 31 rows to 10 cm over stocking st, using 3.50mm needles.
SPECIAL ABBREVIATIONS
M1 = make 1 st by picking up loop that lies before next st, place on left hand needle and knit into back of loop.
BOTTOM
(beg at centre)
Using set 3.50mm needles and C1, cast on 40 sts evenly onto 3 needles.
Knit 10 rounds.
11th round - K4, M1, rep from to end � 50 sts.
12th and foll alt rounds - Knit.
13th round - K5, M1, rep from to end � 60 sts.
15th round - K6, M1, rep from end � 70 sts.
17th round - K7, M1, rep from to end � 80 sts.
Cont inc (as before) in foll alt rows, working one st extra between each inc until there are 240 sts, changing to circular needle when sts will not fit comfortably on set of needles.
Knit 17 rounds.
Using C2, knit 4 rounds.
Using C1, knit 4 rounds. Cast off.
ICING
Work as for Bottom, using C3 only throughout.
SPRINKLES
(make as many as desired)
Using 3mm needles, cast on 8 sts.
1st row - Purl.
Cast off, leaving a long end for sewing to icing.
FINISHING
DO NOT PRESS. Using mattress st, join bottom and icing together in centre and outer edge, leaving an opening for filling. Fill firmly or as desired with hobby fill and close opening. Sew sprinkles to icing as desired.
