Can I purchase kids tableware at Spotlight?

Yes, you can! Choose from a range of items including plates, bowls, cutlery, drinks containers, sandwich boxes and much more. Decorated with colourful and fun cartoon characters, they will make sure your child has the right lunch at school, or can help reluctant eaters to clear their plates during mealtimes at home.

What is kids tableware made of?

Many of the kids plates and bowls are made from melamine. These dishes are light and virtually unbreakable, so perfect for use by kids. Recent studies in the USA have found that it is better not to heat food or drink in some melamine containers. This is because miniscule amounts of melamine may transfer to food, unless the melamine dishes specify that they are safe for use in microwave ovens. So make sure that you check individual products for details. However, serving food on them after it has been heated in other containers is considered perfectly safe, so your kids can enjoy their favourite images while eating.

Does Spotlight stock kids cutlery too?

Yes, you can find cutlery here for little ones, including a two-piece set of Minions cutlery (spoon and fork), as well as a four-piece set of stainless-steel cutlery with animal figures on the handles, which includes a fork, knife, spoon and teaspoon.

What else is included in the range?

Shop here at Spotlight for kids sandwich containers or lunch boxes too. We have a huge range of different designs on offer, as well as matching back packs, drinks containers and more, to make meal times fun for kids of all ages. A handy tip: make sure your kids eat the right lunch by making sure their fun lunchbox or bag is marked with their name. That way, it won't get mixed up with those belonging to their friends, who may well have the same favourite characters adorning their lunch boxes and drinks containers.

What should my child's lunchbox contain?

According to nutritionists, kids lunchboxes should contain the following items:

  • Starchy foods like bread, rice, potatoes or pasta
  • Protein foods like meat, fish, eggs or beans
  • A dairy item, like cheese or yogurt
  • Vegetables or salad and a portion of fruit

Make sure you vary the contents of your child's lunchbox - that way they will be keen to see what is on offer every day. Use smaller containers inside the lunch box if you want to include (pasta) salads, chopped fruits or raisins or yogurts.
