Belt

Row 1(RS): 1 htr in 3rd ch from hook (2ch forms first htr). 1 htr in each ch to end. (46 sts).
Row 2(WS): 2 ch, (2ch forms first htr). 1 htr in each htr of previous row to end.
Work 2 more rows of HTR, bind off.
Buckle
Foundation Chain: Using Col 4, Make 28 ch, keeping ch flat, join to form a loop with a sl st in the first ch.
Rnd 1: 2 ch, (2ch forms first htr). 1 htr in same stitch as sl st, 1 htr in next 5 ch, 2 htr in next 2 ch (Forms corner), repeat from twice more, 1 htr in next 5 ch, 2 htr in last ch, sl st in 2nd ch of first 2 ch to complete.
Bind off.
Finishing
Neaten the yarn ends by weaving into the work and trimming with scissors.
Press all pieces flat with a steam iron on a setting to suit the yarn.
Centre the belt in the middle of the placemat and place each end just before the scallop border. Oversew in place using needle and matching thread.
Centre the buckle in the middle of the over the belt, ensuring the buckle is straight with corners formed. Oversew in place using needle and matching thread.
