DIY FILLABLE BAUBLES

DIY Fillable Baubles Project

LEVEL: EASY

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Jolly & Joy Plastic Baubles
  • Tim Holtz jewellery range
  • Glitter
  • Jolly & Joy DIY Bauble Filler
  • PVA Glue
  • Paint brush
  • Hot Glue Gun and glue sticks
  • Ribbon for hanging
  • Fishing line
  • Scissors
  • Pliers or wire cutters

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1 - Decide on which beads and pendants from the Tim Holtz range you wish to use on the baubles. Use the pliers or wire cutters to separate the beads if they are on a strand.

Step 2 - Using the paint brush, paint PVA glue onto the areas of the baubles you want to cover in glitter. While glue is still wet sprinkle glitter onto the bauble, it's best to do this over a piece of paper so you can catch the excess glitter. Shake off the excess glitter once the glue is dry. Repeat with each bauble in different colours and patterns.

Step 3 - Once the glitter is dry use the hot glue gun to decorate the outside of the baubles with the beads/pendants. Stick each one on individually and leave to dry.

Step 4 - To hang beads or pendants inside the bauble, cut pieces of fishing line about 20cm long and thread through the bead/pendant eye. Place the bead/pendants inside the bauble and close bauble shut ensuring the excess fishing line comes through the top of the bauble. Pull fishing line through the bauble until the beads/pendant is hanging at desired length and then tie off the line through the eye of the bauble.

Step 5 - You can also fill the baubles with loose beads, bauble filler or jewellery that you are wanting to gift to someone by enclosing inside the bauble.

Step 6 - To finish, thread some ribbon through the top of each bauble to hang or attach a gift tag.
