FLORAL BUTTON FASCINATOR WITH QUILLS IN CORAL

Floral Button Fascinator With Quills In Coral Project

Level: Intermediate

What You'll Need:

  • Coral sinamay saucer
  • Velvet flowers 2 large, 2 small crinkle rose with stamen
  • 3 Quill spine feather
  • Matching thread & Sewing Needle OR Hot glue gun
  • Pins
  • Scissors

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1 - Remove the existing trim from the button. Carefully use a small amount of steam from the iron to remove any glue.

Step 2 - Decide on the position of the sinamay button when it is being worn and pin this on the headband. Traditionally a women's hat would be worn down on an angle over the right eye with the trim on the upper left side when it is being worn. Attached the button to the headband with a stitch.

Step 3 - Place the large flowers first, one in the centre at the front and one facing the back and pin into position. Now place the small flowers on each side facing towards the front. Secure the flower to the base where it is pinned with some stitches or hot glue.

Step 4 - Curve the thin end of the quills by running it along the edge of a closed pair of scissors, like a curling ribbon.

Step 5 - Place the quills through the flowers so that are popping out on the left hand. Trim any excess length that you don't need off. Secure into place with some stitches or hot glue.
