CRINOLINE DISKS WITH VEILING & SEQUIN TRIM
Level: Intermediate
What You'll Need:
- Round paper base headband in Natural
- 2 Crinoline disks in ivory
- Millinery Veiling in ivory
- Large Sequin flower
- Matching thread
- Elastic
- Pins
- Sewing Needle
- Scissors
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 - Remove the crinoline disks from the headbands.
Step 2 - Decide on the position of the sinamay disk when it is being worn and pin this on the headband. Traditionally a women's hat would be worn down on an angle over the right eye with the trim on the upper left side when it is being worn. Attached the disk to the headband with a stitch.
Step 3 - Pin the crinoline disks to the sinamay disk, one facing forward and one facing towards the back. The section where the crinoline overlaps will look best down to the front over the eye.
Step 2 - Cut the veiling into four 15cm lengths. Pinch them in the middle and wrap them with thread to form a pom pom. Spread the veiling out to form a full circle.
Step 3 - Attach the veil pom pom in the middle of the front crinoline disk.
Step 4 - Attach the sequin flower in the middle of the front and the back crinoline disk.
