Step 4 - With nozzle fitted transfer to a piping bag or ziplock bag.
Step 5 - Starting from the top of the stick, pipe down in a zig zag motion increasing the size. Stop piping the tree at least two thirds of the way down the stick. Make a variety of sizes and shapes. Repeat with as many coloured candy melts as desired.
Step 6 - Add sprinkles to trees and place in fridge to set
Decorating the cake
Step 1 - Using your hand press sprinkles up against the edge of the cake and on top of the cake. For this step an icing that isn't too sticky would be preferable - we used Over the Top ready made buttercream.
Step 2 - Stick trees into cake, placing the larger and taller trees at the back and the smaller ones at the front
