Flower Block (Refer Diagram)

Each flower is made up of 4 x 2.5" petals (see Diagram 1).

Each petal block is sewn together using the FPP method. You will require a total of 25 flowers.

Squares Block (Refer Diagram)

Each squares block is made up of 4.5" squares of the Shadow Flowers Blender White and Lilac.

Step 1 - Print enough foundation squares to create 100 petals. You will require 4 of each petal fabric colour to make up one flower
block. 25 flower blocks in total.

Step 2 - Using the FPP method, sew the petals starting by pinning the petal fabric onto the block. Add the centre and background pieces following the sewing lines on the foundation paper. Repeat this process for a total of 100 petal squares. Press.

Step 3 - Using your rotary cutter, trim all sides back to the outside line on the foundation paper. Your petal should measure 2.5" square.

Step 4 - With papers intact and referring to Diagram 1 join each 4 matching petals to create a 4.5" x 4.5" flower.

Step 5 - Remove the paper from the 1/4" seam you have sewn as this will reduce bulk when you are pressing the seams. Keep
Diagram 1 remaining papers intact. Press seams.

Step 6 - Check that the size of your flower is 4.5" square and carefully trim if necessary.

Flower Block

Step 7 - Referring to the Flower Block Diagram, sew together flower blocks and background squares to create a 12.5" square.

Step 8 - Repeat this process to create a total of 5 Flower blocks.

Squares Block

Step 11 - Lay your Flower and Squares blocks out as per the Quilt Layout Diagram and in a pleasing manner for flower colours. Following the Quilt Layout and keeping your blocks in order, sew the first row together. Press seams to one side.

Step 12 - Repeat the step above for the remaining rows.

Step 13 - Again following the Quilt Layout, sew your rows together creating your quilt top.

Step 14 - Border 1 - Gather your 4 x Shadow Flower Blender White fabric strips (3" wide). Cut 2 x 36.5" long. These are your top and bottom borders. Join to each end of the quilt. Press seams.

wide). Cut 2 x 41.5" long. These are your top and bottom borders. Join to each end of the quilt. Press seams.

Step 17 - Cut the remaining two strips at 43.5" long. These are your side borders. Join to each side of the quilt. Press seams.

Step 18 - Following the same process as the previous borders, gather your 6 x Shadow Flower Blender Lilac fabric strips (4.5" wide). Cut 2 x 43.5" long. These are your top and bottom borders. Join to each end of the quilt. Press seams.
