XMAS TABLE SETTING

NAPKIN RINGS:

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• 0.5m Christmas fabric
• 2m coordinating Christmas ribbon

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1 - Cut 8 rectangles 7.5cmx15cm from your fabric & cut 8 pieces of ribbon approx. 25cm long.

Step 2 - Centre a piece of ribbon on both short edges of one of the rectangles. Use a basting stitch to hold in place.

Step 3 - Carefully fold the ribbon into the middle of the rectangle and pin in place. Place a second rectangle right sides together and stitch around the edge, being careful not to catch the ribbon in the seam. Leave an opening for turning out on one of the long sides. Backstitch over the ribbons a few times to ensure they are secure.

Step 4 - Carefully remove the pin from the middle and then turn right sides out. Press and top stitch around the outside.

Step 5 - Tie the ribbons into a bow and trim to desired length. Repeat for the other 3 napkin rings.

BREADBASKET:

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• 0.5m Outer fabric
• 0.5m Lining fabric
• 0.5m Cotton Wadding
• Basting spray

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1 - Cut 3 squares 50cm x 50cm, one from the outside fabric, one from the lining and one from cotton wadding.

Step 2 - Fuse the wadding to the wrong side of one piece of fabric with basting spray.

Step 3 - Sew the two fabric pieces right sides together, leaving a turning gap of about 7cm in one side. Snip across the corners, turn the right side out and press.

Step 4 - Top stitch close to the edge, this will close the opening. Then sew another line 2cm from the first.

Step 5 - Measure and mark the centre of each side on the lining with your erasable marker pen. Measure and mark 7.5cm either side, then 7.5cm down, to form a triangle. Repeat on all four sides Fold each triangle in half and sew (this creates a dart). Repeat with all four sides.

Step 6 - On the lining side, fold the points of the triangles to one side and hand sew to secure. Turn the box right side out, fold over the points and hand-sew to the sides. You can add a bow or Christmas button to these points if you wish.
