THE WIND CRIES MERINO BABY BLANKET
Level: Intermediate
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- "Abbey Road" The Wind Cries Merino 25g x 9 balls Main Colour (M) Natural, 1 ball 1st Contrast Colour (C1) Grape, 2 balls 2nd Contrast Colour (C2) Pink, and 1 ball 3rd Contrast Colour (C3) Grey.
- A 4.50mm circular knitting needle (80cm long), or size required to give correct tension.
- Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure
Measurements
Width (approx): 96 cm
Length (approx): 112 cm
Tension
25 sts x 28 (slightly stretched) rows to 10cm over patt, using 4.50mm needles.
INSTRUCTIONS
BLANKET
Using a circular 4.50mm needle and C1, cast on 241 sts.
Note - A circular needle has been used to accommodate the large number of sts. Work in rows not rounds.
1st row (WS) - Knit.
Beg Patt -
1st row - K3, K1, yfwd, K6, K2tog, K1, sl 1, K1, psso, K6, yfwd, rep from to last 4 sts, K4.
2nd row - K4, P8, K1, rep from to last 3 sts, K3.
3rd row - As 1st row.
4th row - Knit.
Rep 3rd and 4th rows 10 more times ... 24 rows patt in all.
Using C2, rep rows 1 to 24 incl once.
Using C3, rep rows 1 to 24 incl once.
Using M, rep rows 1 to 24 incl once.
Using C2, rep rows 1 to 24 incl once.
Using M only for rem, rep rows 1 to 24 incl 8 more times, then 1st and 2nd rows once.
Next row (RS) - Knit.
Cast off loosely knitways.
FINISHING
DO NOT PRESS. Sew in ends towards centre of Blanket, rather than along side edges.
