SPIDERS WEB CAPE

Spiders Web Cape Project

Level: Beginner

What You'll Need:

  • 0.75cm Husky Anti Pill 148 cm Plain Polar Fleece Fabric White
  • 1 ball x Marvel 12 ply Black Yarn
  • Sewing Machine
  • Pins
  • Scissors
  • Thread

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1 - Unfold the fabric and cut half the width. (For a longer/larger web use more of the fabric width. The instructions are based around the sizing in the image provided)

Step 2 - Fold fabric on diagonal to create a triangle. At the center fold, in the center of the fabric cut a curved line to form the opening for the head.

Tip - Use a t-shirt as a guide as to how big the hole needs to be. Keep in mind the fabric is folded in half, it will look smaller than you need. It is always better to start with a small opening and then cut it larger.

Step 3 -While folded, mark out three scalloped points on the open side of the folded fabric. These points will form the points of the web.

Step 4- Using pins secure yarn web design onto the fabric. Start with lines coming out from the neck opening to each point tip. Using your machine zig zag over the yarn to secure it to the poncho.

Step 5 - Once all the straight lines have been sewn down, repeat the process with the curved lines to form the rest of the web design.

Step 6 - Cut spider template from the adhesive felt and stick onto the spider web.
