MONOTONE MOUNTAINS PAINTING

Monotone Mountains Painting Project

LEVEL: EASY

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Template
  • Scissors
  • 11x14" 'Semco' Canvas x 2
  • 'Semco' craft paint - Black
  • Water
  • 'Royal and Langnickel' Crafters choice paint brushes
  • Double sided tape
  • Newspaper

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1. Print 2 x template to desired size.

Step 2. Cut out 1 template leaving the negative space to be white and cut the other out so the negative space will be black. Refer to finished image to see both designs. When cutting out the mountain faces it is best to number them from left to right to avoid confusion later.

Step 3. Use double sided tape to stick down each design onto each canvas, ensuring they are in the correct positions and centred.

Step 4. Once design is stuck in place. Use black semco paint to fill in designs. It is best to start by painting over the top of the design and sweeping your brush strokes away from the template to avoid paint seeping under the paper.

Step 5. Repeat on 2nd canvas.

Step 6. Once both canvases first coats are dry, repeat with a second coat to finish.

Step 7. When both coats are dry carefully remove template ensuring not to peel any paint off in the process.

Step 8. Once template is off, use a small paint brush and black paint to neaten any unfinished edges.

Step 9. Allow to dry before hanging.
