Bag handles:

Step 1- Fold the bag handles in half-length wise and press with iron on both pieces.

Step 2- Find the centre top of bag front and back. Mark each side of the centre 7.5 cm.

Pin bag handles to the right side of bag.

Tip: Make sure handles are flat and not twisted.

Step 3- Baste across handles close to edge.

Step 4- Turn bag inside out. Press a 1cm hem then a 2cm hem, keeping the attached bag handles flat.

Step 5- Pin and sew close to edge of hem making sure bag handles are sewn in. Top stitch around top edge of bag close to folded top of bag, again make sure bag handles are flat and straight.

Tip - You may like to reinforce bag handles by sewing diagonal stitches where the handles are attached to the tote bag.
