Hat

With 6mm hook, and 2 strands of white held together, make a magic ring.

Rnd 1: ch 3 (counts as tr) 11tr, sl st to top of ch... 12tr

Rnd 2: ch 3, and tr into 1st st, 2tr into next 11 sts, sl st to top of ch... 24tr

Rnd 3: ch 3, and tr into 1st st, tr into next st, 2tr into next st, rep from sl st to top of ch... 36tr

Rnd 4: ch 3, and tr into 1st st, tr into next 2 sts, 2tr into next st, rep from sl st to top of ch... 48tr

Rnd 5: ch 3, and tr into 1st st, tr into next 7 sts, 2tr into next st, rep from sl st to top of ch... 54 tr

Rnd 6 -12: ch 3, and tr into next 53 sts, sl st to top of ch... 54tr

Rnd 13: ch 1 (does not count as st) and dc into same st, dc into next 53 sts, sl st to top of ch... 54dc

Fasten off and weave in ends.


Ears (Make 2)

With 6mm hook, and 2 strands of white held together, make a chain of 32

Row 1: Sk 3 ch (counts as tr) 28 tr, 6 tr in last ch, continue work in other side of ch,30 tr, turn... 64 tr

Row 2: ch 1 (not counted as st) 20dc, 7hdc, 2tr, (2tr) in next 6 sts, 2tr, 7hdc, 20tr, turn... 70 sts

Row 3: ch 1 (not counted as st) 10dc, 11hdc, 8tr, (2tr) in next st, tr in next st, rep from 5 times, 8tr, 11hdc, 10tr... 76 sts

Fasten off and weave in ends.


Ear Lining (Make 2)

Change colour in the last 'pull through' of the stitch before colour change. Do not cut yarn between colour changes, but keep the yarn float on the WS (wrong side)

With 4mm hook, and 1 strand of lemon sorbet, make a chain of 9.

Row 1: sk 1 ch, 8dc, turn... 8dc

Row 2-3: ch 1, 8dc, turn.

Row 4-5: change to apricot, ch 1, 8dc, turn.

Row 6-7: change to mint, ch 1, 8dc, turn.

Row 8-9: change to wisteria, ch 1, 8dc, turn.

Repeat rows 2-9 three times,

Row 34: change to lemon sorbet, ch 1, 2dc in 1st st, 7dc, 2dc in next st, turn... 10dc

Row 35: ch 1, 10dc, turn.

Row 36-37: change to apricot, ch 1, 10dc, turn.

Row 38: change to mint, ch 1, 2dc in 1st st, 9dc, 2dc in next st, turn... 12dc

Row 39: ch1, 12dc, turn.

Row 40-41: change to wisteria, ch 1, 12dc, turn.

Row 42-42: change to lemon sorbet, ch 1, 12dc, turn.

Row 43-44: change to apricot, ch 1, 12dc, turn.

Row 45: change to mint, ch1 dc2tog, 8dc, dc2tog, turn... 10dc.

Row 46: ch 1, 10dc, turn.

Row 47: change to wisteria, ch 1, 10dc, turn.

Row 48: ch1, dc2tog, 6dc, dc2tog, turn... 8dc

Row 49: ch1, 8dc, turn.

Fasten off.


Eyes (Make 2)

With 4mm hook, and 1 strand of black, make a magic ring

Rnd 1: 6dc... 6dc

Rnd 2: 2dc into each st around... 12dc

Rnd 3: 2dc into next st, dc into next st, rep from 5 times... 18dc

Rnd 4: 2dc into next st, dc into next 2 sts, rep from 5 times... 24dc

Fasten off and weave in ends.


Nose

With 4mm hook, and 1 strand of black, make a magic ring

Rnd 1: 6dc... 6dc

Rnd 2: 2dc into each st around... 12dc

Fasten off and weave in ends.


Assembly

Pin all pieces in place before sewing securely. Attach eye centred between rows 8 and 9, with a gap of approx. 6 sts. Centre nose between the eyes, between rows 10 and 11. Stitch a vertical line from the bottom of the nose to space between rows 11 and 12. Use a small length of white yarn to stitch a 'glint' on the top right of the nose, and both eyes.

Place WS ear lining to WS ears, allowing an even gap around the lining and sew together. Fold the flat part of ear and join it securely to the crown of the beanie.
