INSTRUCTIONS

Additional Abbreviations

WC - Working Cords, term given to cords to make knots.
FC - Filler Cords, term given to cords that knots are made around.

Style 1

Step 1: Cut WC - 4 x 3.5 metres.

Step 2: Fold lengths in half and mount on the ring using a LHK.

Step 3: Thread 3 beads and place tight up to the LHKs.

Step 4: Divide work into 4 with 2 cords each. Tie an OK with each set of 2 close to the 3rd bead.

Step 5: Measure down 10cms and tie another OK with each set of 2 cords. Repeat this 2 more times.

Step 6: Measure down 10cms and taking a cord from each set, make news groups of 2 and work an OK with each set of 2 cords. Repeat this twice more

Step 7: Thread 3 beads and place tight up to the LHKs.

Step 8: Make an OK with all cords to secure the beads

Step 9: Trim ends to a length of 32cm and tie each end with an OK 1cm above the cut.

Style 2

Step 1: Cut WC - 6 x 5 metres.

Step 2: Fold lengths so 1 side is 3.20m long and 1 is 1.80m long, the shorter lengths will be the FCs, and the longer the WCs. mount on the ring using a LHK, so that the arrangement is (3.20, 1.80, 1.80, 3.20) x 3.

Step 3: Using the outer cords as WC work a SK around the middle 10 cords as FCs. Tighten to keep flat.

Step 4: Work a further 2 SK, these can be tightened a little more.

Step 5: Divide the work into 3 sets of 4 cords (ensuring 2 long cords (WC) and 2 short cords(FC) in each group), and work 6 SKs with each set.

Step 6: Measure down 11cms and work 1 HK.

Step 7: Repeat the same HK 11 more times, work will naturally twist.

Step 8: Thread the 2 FC from each set through a bead work 2 HKs below the beads to secure.

Step 9: Work a further 10 HKs. 12 in total.

Step 8: Measure down 11cms and work 6 SKs with each set.

Step 9: Measure down 11cms and work a HK joining the sets together by taking 2 cords from the side of each set, (FCs will become new WCs, and WCs will become FCs).

Step 10: Work a further 5 HKs to twist. Thread the 2 FC through a bead and secure by working 6 HKs below.

Step 11: Measure down 5cms and work a SK joining the sets together by taking 2 cords from the side of each set, (FCs will become new WCs, and WCs will become FCs).

Step 12: Work a further 2 SKs.

Step 13: Secure all cords together at the base of the knots worked in Step 12, Work 2 HK with the 2 outside cords on each side as WCs, and the middle 8 as FCs.

Step 14: Work 1 SK with the next 2 outside cords on each side as WCs, and the middle 4 as FCs.

Step 15: Thread a bead over the middle 4 cords, and secure with a SK with the same WCs in Step 14.

Step 16: Work 2 HK with the 2 outside cords on each side as WCs, and the middle 8 as FCs.

The twist will help the cords sit over the bead in quarters, or it can be manipulated to suit.

Finishing: Trim cords to 28cms or desired length, below the wrapped cord. Fray cords for a relaxed look.

Style 3

Step 1: Cut WC - 8 x 4.2 metres. Cut 2 x 1.0 metre for wrapping.

Step 2: Fold lengths so 1 side is 2.40m long and 1 is 1.80m long, the shorter lengths will be the FCs, and the longer the WCs. mount on the ring using a LHK, so that the arrangement is (2.40, 1.80, 1.80, 2.40) x 4.

Step 3: Drape vertically a 10cms end of the wrap cord from just below the LHKs, take the long end and wrap tightly around all cords for 5cms,

Step 4: Insert the crochet hook inside the cords, from top to bottom and draw up the end. Trim the ends.

Step 5: Divide the work into 4 sets of 4 cords (ensuring 2 long cords (WC) and 2 short cords(FC) in each group), and work 8 SKs with each set.

Step 6: Measure down 20cms and work 1 SK.

Step 7: Repeat Step 6 once more.

Step 8: Measure down 10cms and work a SK joining the sets together by taking 2 cords from the side of each set, (FCs will become new WCs, and WCs will become FCs).

Step 9: Repeat Step 8 twice more.

Step 10: Measure down 2cms and work a SK joining the sets together by taking 2 cords from the side of each set, (FCs will become new WCs, and WCs will become FCs).

Step 11: Repeat the wrap process as in Step 3, draping the end 2cms below the last knot worked Use craft glue for extra strength below wrapping.

Finishing: Trim cords to 40cms or desired length, below the wrapped cord. Fray cords for a relaxed look.
