Dropped Shoulder Jumper with Uneven Front & 3/4 Sleeves

  • 'Kartopu' Love Cotton Prints 100g: 5 (6-6-7) balls.
  • 1 pair each of 4.00mm knitting needles and a set of 3.50mm knitting needles or size required to give correct tension.
  • 2 stitch-holders, scissors, yarn needle, tape measure.

 

Rib & Lace Jumper Knitted Sideways

DROPPED SHOULDER JUMPER WITH UNEVEN FRONT & 3/4 SLEEVES

TENSION

22 sts x 29 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 4.00mm needles.

INSTRUCTIONS

BACK

Using 4.00mm needles, cast on 117 (129-139-151) sts.

BEG RIB

1st row (RS) - K2, * P1, K1, rep from * to last st, K1.

2nd row - K1, * P1, K1, rep from * to end.

Last 2 rows form rib.

Rep last 2 rows 5 times, (12 rows rib in all). **

Working in stocking st for rem, cont until work measures 41cm from beg, working last row on wrong side. Tie a marker at each end of last row to indicate armhole depth, as there is no armhole shaping.

Work 62 (64-66-70) rows stocking st.

SHAPE SHOULDERS

Cast off 8 (9-10-12) sts at beg of next 6 rows, then 9 (11-12-11) sts at beg of foll 2 rows.

Leave rem 51 (53-55-57) sts on stitch-holder for neckband.

FRONT

Work as given for Back to **.

Work 24 (26-26-28) rows stocking st.

1st row - K58 (64-69-75), turn.

Cont on these 58 (64-69-75) sts for left side of neck shaping.

Dec one st at neck edge in in every row until 44 (52-57-65) sts rem, then in every foll alt row until 33 (38-42-47) sts rem.

Purl 1 row.

SHAPE SHOULDER

Cast off 8 (9-10-12) sts at beg of next and foll 2 alt rows.

Purl 1 row.

Cast off rem 9 (11-12-11) sts.

Slip next st onto a stitch holder and leave for neckband.

With RS facing, join yarn to rem 58 (64-69-75) sts, knit to end.

Cont on these 58 (64-69-75) sts for right side of neck shaping.

Dec one st at neck edge in in every row until 44 (52-57-65) sts rem, then in every foll alt row until 33 (38-42-47) sts rem.

Work 2 rows.

SHAPE SHOULDER

Cast off 8 (9-10-12) sts at beg of next and foll 2 alt rows.

Knit 1 row.

Cast off rem 9 (11-12-11) sts.

SLEEVES

Using 4.00mm needles, cast on 57 (61-63-67) sts. Work 18 rows rib as given for back.

Working in stocking st for rem, inc one st at each end of next row, then in every foll 4th row until there are 87 (89-95-101) sts, then in every foll 6th row until there are 89 (93-97-103) sts.

Cont without further inc until work measures 32 (33-34-35) cm from beg, working last row on wrong side.

SHAPE TOP

Keeping pattern correct, cast off 10 (10-10-11) sts at beg of next 6 rows, then 9 (10-11-10) sts at beg of foll 2 rows.

Cast off rem 11 (13-15-17) sts.

NECKBAND

Using mattress stitch, join shoulder seams. With RS facing, using a set of 3.50mm needles, beg at left shoulder seam, knit up 40 (44-46-50) sts evenly along left side of front neck shaping, knit st from front neck stitch holder, knit up 40 (44-46-50) sts evenly along right side of front neck shaping to shoulder seam, then knit across 51 (53-55-57) from back neck stitch-holder ... 132 (142-148-158) sts.

1st round - * K1, P1, rep from * to end.

Rep last round 5 times.

Cast off loosely in rib.

FINISHING

Placing centre of sleeve to shoulder seam, sew in sleeves evenly between markers. Join side and sleeve seams. Sew in ends.

RIB & LACE JUMPER KNITTED SIDEWAYS

TENSION

22 sts x 29 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 4.00mm needles.

INSTRUCTIONS

BEG AT SLEEVE

Using 4.00mm needles, cast on 86 (86-98-98) sts.

BEG PATT

1st row (RS) - K3, (P3, K3) 3 (3-4-4) times, (K2tog, yon twice, K2tog) 11 times, K3, (P3, K3), 3 (3-4-4) times.

2nd row - P3, (K3, P3) 3 (3-4-4) times, (P2, K1, P1) 11 times, P3, (K3, P3), 3 (3-4-4) times.

Last 2 rows form patt for sleeve.

Cont in patt, working extra sts into 3x3 rib as they become available, AT SAME TIME inc one st at each end of 11th row and every foll 8th row until there are 110 (110-122-122) sts.

Work a further 19 (21-23-25) rows patt.

CAST ON STS FOR BACK & FRONT

1st row - Cast on 54 (54-60-60) sts, K3, (P3, K3) 14 (14-16-16) times, (K2tog, yon twice, K2tog) 11 times, K3, (P3, K3) 5 (5-6-6) times.

2nd row - Cast on 54 (54-60-60) sts, P3, (K3, P3) 14 (14-16-16) times, (P2, K1, P1) 11 times, K3, (P3, K3) 14 (14-16-16) times ... 218 (218-242-242) sts.

3rd row - K3, (P3, K3) 14 (14-16-16) times, (K2tog, yon twice, K2tog) 11 times, K3, (P3, K3) 14 (14-16-16) times.

4th row - P3, (K3, P3) 14 (14-16-16) times, (P2, K1, P1) 11 times, P3, (K3, P3) 14 (14-16-16) times.

Rep last 2 rows 20 (23-26-26) times.

DIVIDE FOR NECK OPENING

1st row - K3, (P3, K3) 14 (14-16-16) times, (K2tog, yon twice, K2tog) 5 times, cast off next 3 sts, K2tog, pass last cast off st overand off needle, yon twice, K2tog, (K2tog, yon twice, K2tog) 4 times, K3, (P3, K3) 14 (14-16-16) times.

Cont in patt on last 107 (107-119-119) sts for back neck.

Work 65 (67-69-73) rows patt, cast on 4 sts ... 111 (111-123-123) sts.

Leave these sts on a stitch holder.

With wrong side facing, join yarn to rem 107 (107-119-119) sts, patt to end.

Work 65 (67-69-73) rows patt.

Next row - Patt 107 (107-119-119), then patt across 111 (111-123-123) sts from stitch-holder ... 218 (218-242-242) sts.

Work 43 (49-55-55) rows patt.

CAST OFF STS FOR BACK AND FRONT

Work a further 11 rows patt.

Cast off loosely in patt.

FRONT LOWER BAND

Using 3.50mm needles, knit up 117 (129-135-147) sts.

1st row - P3, * K3, P3, rep from * to end.

2nd row - K3, * P3, K3, rep from * to end.

Rep last 2 rows 10 times, then 1st row once.

Cast off loosely in rib.

BACK LOWER BAND

Work as given for front lower band.

FINISHING

Using mattress st, join side and sleeve seams. Sew in ends.
