Instructions:

Measurements: Width at widest point (approx) 150cm, Depth (approx) 100cm

Tension:
22 sts and 30 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 4mm needles.

Shawl:

Using 4mm circular needle and C1, cast on 287 sts.

Note - Work in rows, not rounds.

Foundation row (WS) - Knit.

Beg Lace Patt - 1st row (RS) - K2, yfwd, K2tog, P1, K1, rep from to last st, K1.

2nd row - P2, yrn, P2tog, K1, P1, rep from to last st, P1.

Last 2 rows form lace patt, noting that sts will be decreased.

Note - When shaping in this lace patt, do not work a yfwd or yrn unless the corresponding K2tog or P2tog can be worked and vice versa.

Next row - K2, then (K1, sl 1, K2tog, psso = decrease), patt to end ... 2 sts decreased.

Work 1 row patt.

Keeping lace patt correct, cont dec 2 sts (as before - on every RS row) until lace patt measures 12cm, working last row on WS.

Beg Garter St - 1st row (RS) - K1, sl 1, K2tog, psso, knit to end ... 2 sts decreased.

2nd row - Knit.

Keeping garter st correct, cont dec 2 sts (as before) until garter st measures 12cm, working last row on WS.

Cont in lace pattern and garter st pattern of 12cm of each, when 1 x ball has been used, then continue onto next ball until all 4 balls have been used or 2 sts rem.

K2tog. Fasten off.

Finishing:
DO NOT PRESS. Sew in all ends towards centre of shawl rather than along side edges for a neater finish.
