Flowing drape, satin would work for maxi dresses, skirts or blouses and is also suitable for a range of end uses including costuming and crafting.

Keep satin flat prior to cutting, press out any creases on the reverse side of the fabric, lay out between sheets of tissue when cutting to prevent slipping
Use sharp scissors which will reduce fabric fraying
Make sure your pattern pieces all run the same way when you cut, the grain and nap reflects with light
It is also recommended that you cut a wider seam allowance than the pattern and overlock lock or faux overlock seams
Fine silk pins are recommended for assembling your cut pattern prior to sewing or use clips
Making a "muslin" or "toile" is recommended for satin, as adjusting the pattern for fit after sewing can be difficult and fabric can show visible marks during sewing
Use a sharp fine needle 60/8 or 70/10 and fuse the seam allowance for best results
