FLORAL SAUCER IN PINK & WHITE
Level: Moderate
What You'll Need:
- Sinamay saucer base on the headband in natural
- 6 Flower crowns
- Pins
- Sewing Needle and matching thread OR hot glue gun
- Scissors
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 -Remove the flowers from metal headbands. Carefully use a small amount of steam from the iron to remove any glue that is connecting them.
Step 2 - Decide on the position of the sinamay disk when it is being worn and pin this on the headband. Traditionally a women's hat would be worn down on an angle over the right eye with the trim on the upper left side when it is being worn. Attached the saucer to the headband with a stitch.
Step 3 - Arrange floral sections on top of the saucer with pins. Check the arrangement of the flowers to get a nice even spread of colour in the mirror. Secure the flowers to the base by stitching them or a hot glue gun.
Step 4 - Arrange the flowers around the back side of the saucer. Stitch or glue into place.
Step 5 - Cut a length of elastic that goes from one end of the headband, around the back of your head to the other side of the headband. Put a knot 1cm from each end. Stitch the elastic just past the photo to each end of the headband to help keep the piece in place and make it comfortable to wear.
