How should I clean and care for my beads from Spotlight?

At Spotlight, we recommend that you do not allow your beads to come into contact with harsh chemicals, such as bleach and chlorine, as these can cause permanent damage. To keep your beads sparkly and new, polish them with a soft dry cloth. We do not recommend that you clean your beaded project with any chemicals and the use of a wet cloth would depend on the material of the bead. If you have chosen a metal bead in your project, and it has begun to turn black, this process is known as oxidisation. To remove the black tarnish, polish them up with a soft cloth to regain their original condition.

Is there anything else I should know about?

At Spotlight, we would also like to take this opportunity to remind you to please ensure that beads are kept out of the reach of young children as they are a choking hazard. If you are using beads in crafts with older children, please make sure that an adult supervises them at all times. Also, a number of our metal beads may contain metal alloys, including, but not limited to, zinc, aluminium and nickel. If you are allergic to any of these components, please purchase beads in a different material, particularly if you are planning to wear your project after it has been completed.
