Lace Curtains

Let the Light In With Lace Curtains in a Wide Range of Styles

Letting in natural light can make a room feel bigger, warmer and more inviting. Lace curtains help do just that while still offering coverage and style. These curtains showcase a delicate lacey design that results in a lighter ambience when compared to solid curtains. Spotlight's lace curtains will bring an elegant look to your windows, elevating your home styling with ease. More than a simple sheer curtain, our lace curtains are available in stunning designs that will give your living room, bedroom and dining room a more refined, romantic look.

Are Lace Curtains Still in Style?

Lace curtains exude a dreamy, romantic ambience that suits both modern and vintage homes, perfect if you want to make any room look a little more formal. These curtains are timeless and can easily be integrated into a range of decorative styles, making them a popular choice in Australian homes.

Pick the Perfect Style for Every Room

Spotlight offers a range of lace curtains in varying styles, making it easy to find a lace curtain that's perfect for any room in your home. Lace curtains produced with a shorter drop are ideal for kitchens or bathrooms. These areas are most often prone to a build-up of moisture on the floor, which can damage the bottom of curtains with a floor-length drop. Lace curtains with a shorter drop in your kitchens and bathrooms means you can enjoy the elegance of these curtains without worrying about damaging your window dressings. On the other hand, full-length panels work better in bedrooms and living rooms. These drops elongate your window furnishings, making your ceilings seem higher and your spaces feel much more spacious. In addition to varying drop lengths, Spotlight also offers a variety of designs with stunning floral patterns, scalloped edges and plain mesh designs available to shop from.

Get the Right Size Without the Guesswork

Spotlight's ready-made lace curtains are available in a range of sizes. Gathering correct measurements of your windows is incredibly important to ensure your curtains are perfectly sized for your windows. Start by measuring the length of your curtain rod or track system, then measure the height from the floor to your curtain hardware.

If you're wanting to achieve a floor-length pooling effect at the bottom of your curtains, add a few extra centimetres to the height measurement of your windows. Check out our buying guide on How to Measure Your Windows For Curtains and Blinds for more information on how to get the perfect measurements for your curtains.

Layer Up for Style and Privacy

Lace curtains, like many sheer curtains, provide a measure of privacy while still allowing you to enjoy the views outside your home. They diffuse the natural light coming into a room, but not as much as a solid sheer curtain. This gives you a brighter, clearer room in which you can enjoy the natural light! For complete privacy, layer our lace curtains with a blockout layer, such as a pair of blockout curtains on a double curtain rod or a blockout roller blind for a clean look. This allows you to enjoy the light filtering benefits of lace curtains during the day, switching effortlessly to your blockout layer in the evening for extra privacy.

Tie Them Into Your Interior Look

Spotlight's lace curtains are often produced in calming neutral tones of white and beige, effortlessly integrating into muted colour palettes of modern, classic and coastal interiors. These curtains are perfect for adding a minimalist elegance to your space. Alternatively, if you're wanting to elevate your space with a contemporary accent, black lace curtains bring a charming gothic touch to any room.

Pair your lace curtains with modern curtain accessories from Spotlight. Think tiebacks, curtain holdbacks and modern curtain rods. This will create a nice contrast between the vintage inspired elegance of lace curtains, incorporating a fresh take on a traditional material.

How Do You Clean and Maintain Lace Curtains?

Most lace curtains can be washed in your machine on a delicate cycle. Make sure to put them in a large delicates bag if possible. Avoid tumble drying your lace curtains as this can cause shrinkage. Instead, carefully line dry in the sun or dry flat in the shade. Lace curtains can also be hand-washed, but do not vigorously rub or wring them as this can tear the lace. Always follow any provided cleaning instructions to give your lace curtains the proper care they need.
